Official, the boutique brokerage co-founded by Oren and Tal Alexander, recently unveiled the acquisition of a mentoring program called Prodigy. Brendan Brown announced he left Westside Estate Agency quietly in November, shortly before OFFICIAL’s made the PRODIGY announcement. A statement from West Hollywood-based Official describes Prodigy as an artificial intelligence-driven program. One that evaluates an agent’s potential to be a future top producer.

Brendan Brown is the first Los Angeles-based agent at OFFICIAL to be named a Prodigy. The program includes mentoring from the Alexander brothers, Tal Alexander & Oren Alexander.

At Official, Brendan Brown will focus on a wide array of neighborhoods. He will focus on his native Newport Beach and Beverly Hills, as well as Manhattan and Miami. Brendan Brown has worked for a number of real estate ventures for the past decade. In 2016 his practice took on a jet-set flavor when he launched a men’s fashion and lifestyle blog, Mr. BGB. When blogging, Brendan Brown filed pictures and musings on brands such as Amiri and Saint Laurent. He also frequently flewn to fashion events during fashion weeks throughout Europe. 

“There are similar and like-minded people in fashion, art and high-end real estate. I created a network around them,” he said.

PRODIGY

Prodigy is a data-driven, invitation-only recruitment tool that evaluates potential new talent for the OFFICIAL.

“We are not like other firms that measure their strength by agent and office counts. OFFICIAL is singularly focused on the highest caliber of agents.” Prodigy allows us to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative KPIs of a potential candidate,” Oge tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Those tools devised by Official comprise a Prodigy Score. OFFICIAL describes it as a “curated score that is the direct measure of an agent’s business. Relative to their peers with the same tenure and in the same market.” And a Scouting Report, which provides “an outline of specific performance metrics, allowing them to see a map of their strengths and weakness.”

“These reports, combined with a rigorous interview process, ensure we deeply understand the potential of the candidate. These include the other areas of their business that require focus in order to fully optimize their business,” explains Oge.

OFFICIAL PARTNERS

Official, currentlu lists a select 41 agents on its website across its five markets (New York City, the Hamptons, MiamiLos Angeles and Orange County). Agents who qualify for its Prodigy program must have a minimum of three-years experience in real estate sales; a minimum of $12 million in annual sales volume; an average price point of more than $500,000. Finally, at least five transactions a year.
